Clary Sage Essential Oil has been used since the Middle Ages for many health-related conditions as well as a fragrance in soaps. cosmetics and perfumes.
It has been used effectively for digestive disorders, kidney disease, menstrual issues, and as a nerve tonic; it helps to relax bronchial tubes, reduce congestion and opens up the sinuses and airways; it lowers blood pressure; it guards against infection; it reduces insomnia, and has many more benefits.

Let's start with some basic information; a brief description of where the oil comes from, what it contains and how it is obtained. The following information is provided by Bill Fifield in his book "Integrated Guide to Essential Oils & Aromatherapy".
This is a book that I highly recommend by the way.
Family: Lamiaceae (Labiatae)
Origins: Southern Europe. Now cultivated worldwide, especially in the Mediterranean regions, Russia, the USA, England, Morocco, and central Europe.
Other Names: clary, clary wort, muscatel sage, clear eye, see bright, common clary, clarry, and eyebright
Description: A sturdy biennial or perennial herb about 3 feet tall with hairy leaves and small blue flowers.
Extraction: Essential oil by steam distillation
Botanical Part Used: Flowering tops and leaves
Principal Constituents: Linalyl acetate (up to 75%), linalool, pinene, myrcene, and others.

The principal constituent (up to 75%) of Clary Sage Essential Oil, linalyl acetate is able to reduce the inflammation and potential scaring caused by acne.

Fill a 5 ml roller bottle with jojoba oil and add a couple drops of Clary Sage. Apply it to the affected areas of your face. As a bonus, this blend will work to clear up any oily patches on your skin.

Create a blend of 6 drops Clary Sage, 2-3 drops of rosemary, and a couple tablespoons of jojoba or other carrier oil. Massage the blend into your scalp, let it set for about an hour and then wash it out.
