Eucalyptus Globulus

Eucalyptus Globulus

Eucalyptus Globulus, also known as Blue Gum Oil, is native to Australia but has been cultivated in California, Russia, Spain, Brazil, Portugal and China.

People would roll up the dried eucalyptus leaves and smoke them like a cigarette as a remedy for respiratory illnesses like bronchitis and coup. It has been used to treat fevers like malaria and typhoid as well as for skin irritations like burns and wounds.

Lately it has been commercialized for use in liniments, inhalants, ointments, toothpaste and cough syrups. It's also been used in soaps and toiletries and as food flavoring.

Eucalyptus Globulus oil is a purifying oil, a decongestant and a disinfectant. It has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory, anti cancer and antioxidant properties. It calms your mind and body and relieves sore muscles.

It is well known for its ability to support healthy respiratory functions and has been used for that purpose for hundreds of years.

Eucalyptus Oil can even be used to get rid of mice.

Blue gum is one of the most extensively planted eucalypts. Its rapid growth and adaptability to a range of conditions is responsible for its popularity. It is especially well-suited to countries with a Mediterranean-type climate, but also grows well in high altitudes in the tropics.  From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Using a diffuser, Eucalyptus Globulus can easily be deployed into your living space to support respiratory function and eliminate sneezing. Note: For respiratory conditions you may want to substitute Eucalyptus Radiata in your diffuser as Globulus could actually promote coughing spasms.

If you also add Lemon, Cinnamon, Clove, and Rosemary oils to the diffuser you will be able to purify and freshen the air. I have found this to be very helpful after I have had my daughters dogs in the car.
