Clove Oil

Syzgium Aromaticum

Clove Oil has a fresh, sweet, slightly fruity smell that works great as a fragrance in cosmetics, soaps, and household products as well as flavoring in foods and drinks.

It has long been used as a pain killer in dental applications and has proven itself for it's antibacterial, antioxidant, antimicrobial, healing and immune balancing properties.

What is Clove Oil?

Let's start with some basic information; a brief description of where the oil comes from, what it contains and how it is obtained. The following information is provided by Bill Fifield in his book "Integrated Guide to Essential Oils & Aromatherapy".

Suggested Uses

Anti Aging

As we age free radicals become more and more damaging to our cells leading to aging, arthritis, cancer and heart disease etc.

You have probably heard that the best defense against these free radicals comes in the form of “antioxidants” which can be found in foods such as red/purple berries, dark green vegetables, fish, nuts, whole grains and ….. some essential oils.

Clove Essential Oil is one of the most potent antioxidants of all essential oils and should be taken with care.

Clove is a very powerful antioxidant and can be used internally but needs to be diluted 25:75 with a carrier oil and taken in a gelatin capsule with food.

Clove can also be diffused in your home and has been known to stimulate the senses and improve memory.

Candida

Clove Oil's principal constituent,  Eugenol (60 - 90%), is known to have especially powerful effects for combating candida.

Just like Cinnamon Oil (above), Clove Oil regulates blood sugar, preventing the spikes that can lead to Candida overgrowth and is able to inhibit its formation.

Research has determined that Clove Oil is effective in treating over 15 different forms of fungi including candida albicans.

It is also known to lessen the pain caused by enraged candida rashes.

Because Clove is one of the oils listed as "hot" oils, topical application should be treated with caution. Always dilute at a 50:50 strength with a carrier oil such as coconut or Jojoba oils.

Add 2 drops to your drinking water or consume with a carrier oil in a Gel Capsule daily for 10 days.
