Family: Rutaceae
Origins: Native to tropical Asia and the West Indies. Now grown in California, Florida, Brazil, and Israel. The oil is mainly sourced in California from organic grapefruit.
Other name: shaddock (oil)
Description: A cultivated citrus tree with glossy leaves and large yellow fruit
Extraction: Cold expression
Botanical Part Used: Raw, fresh peel
Principal constituents: Limonene (90%), cadinene, paradisiol, neral, geraniol citronellal, sinensal, and others
